We speak to you, O blessed Joseph,
our protector on earth,
as one who knows the value of work
and the response of our calling.
We address you through your holy spouse,
the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God,
and knowing the fatherly affection
with which you embraced Our Lord Jesus,
ask that you may assist us in our needs,
and strengthen us in our labors.

By our promise to do worthily our daily tasks,
keep us from failure,
from a greedy mind,
and from a corrupt heart.
Be our watchful guardian in our work,
our defender and strength
against injustice and errors.
As we look to your example
and seek your assistance,
support us in our every effort,
that we may come to everlasting rest
with you in the blessedness of heaven.

Amen.

Lord You are my refuge and my strength
in times of trial and distress.
When I fail to accept your grace
and go my own way You are there to save
and redeem me with Your mercy.
You take away my guilt and create
a new heart within me.
Help me to be faithful and praise
You with my every word and deed.

Dominican Tertiary and Doctor of the Church,
you were full of wisdom,
the special gift of God,
and you knew how to guide even Pontiffs,
as well as how to extinguish fiery passions
and restore true peace among people.
How inspiring your spiritual writings
and how heroic your abstemious life!
Fires are today unfortunately all too common,
including those caused by criminals.
Please protect and encourage firefighters
in their heroic efforts to save lives.

Amen.

O Mary, my Queen,
I cast myself in the arms of your mercy.
I place my soul and body
in your blessed care
and under your special protection
from this world.
I entrust to you all my hopes and consolations,
all my anguish and misery,
my life and the end of my life.
Through your most holy intercession
and through your merits,
grant that all my works may be directed
and carried out in accord with your will
and the will of your Divine Son.

Amen.

Good and Gracious God,
We thank You for the resilience
and grace that You have given us
to bear this time of COVID virus.

Lord help us to lean on Your goodness
in times of suffering and isolation
so that we may be aware of others and serve them.

We make this prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ,
Our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Gracious and Holy Father,
Please give me:
intellect to understand You,
reason to discern You,
diligence to seek You,
wisdom to find You,
a spirit to know You,
a heart to meditate upon You,
ears to hear You,
eyes to see You,
a tongue to proclaim You,
a way of life pleasing to You,
patience to wait for You
and perseverance to look for You.
Grant me a perfect end,
Your holy presence,
a blessed resurrection
and life everlasting.

Lord You care for me, You protect me,
and You show me how to live
according to Your ways.
This gives me the power and strength
to face up to the difficulties and trials
that come my way.
But sometimes these concerns
threaten to distract me
and forget Your gift of Yourself in me.
Help me to always be aware
of Your gracious presence which sustains me
no matter what tribulations I may encounter.

Lord Jesus Christ,
grant me the gift of understanding.
Help me to understand the feelings of others,
the desires of others, the goals of others.
At the same time,
help me to understand myself
in my actions and reactions.
Widen my vision
beyond my own small world
to embrace with knowledge
and love the worlds of others.

Help me, Lord, to always see you
at work in my own life
and in the lives of others.
Bless me with insight, acceptance and love
that is tempered by you
who are all things to all men.
Help me to understand, Lord.

Amen.

O God, who granted to Saint George
strength and constancy in the various torments
which he sustained for our holy faith;
we ask You to preserve,
through his intercession,
our faith from wavering and doubt,
so that we may serve You
with a sincere heart faithfully unto death.
Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

April 22, 2021

Risen Lord, You have blessed me
with the gift of life.
Help me to use this precious gift
to share Your hope, joy, compassion
and love in the world.

April 21, 2021

Mary, I beg you, by that grace
through which the Lord is with you
and you will to be with him,
let your mercy be with me.
Let love for you always be with me,
and the care for me be always with you.
Let the cry of my need,
as long as it persists, be with you,
and the care of your goodness,
as long as I need it, be with me.
Let joy in your blessedness
be always with me,
and compassion for my wretchedness,
where I need it, be with you.

Lord God you have created us
and made us to love others.

During this pandemic, we have found
out how much we need each other.

Build our hearts to continue to care for
the sick and vulnerable; to respect
all those affected by this virus.

Let us be strong and kind for each other
as we become more willing to follow
your invitation to love.

We make this prayer through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

O Lord, Jesus Christ,
Redeemer and Savior,
forgive my sins,
just as You forgave Peter's denial
and those who crucified You.
Count not my transgressions, but,
rather, my tears of repentance.
Remember not my iniquities, but,
more especially, my sorrow
for the offenses I have committed against You.
I long to be true to Your Word,
and pray that You will love me
and come to make Your dwelling place within me.
I promise to give You praise and glory in love
and in service all the days of my life.

April 18, 2021

Graciously hear us, O Lord, when we call upon You,
and grant our humble request for a calm atmosphere,
that we, who are justly punished for our sins,
may be spared, by Your protecting mercy,
from the ravages of storms and floods.
Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Father in Heaven,
ever-living source of all that is good,
keep me faithful in serving You.
Help me to drink of Christ's Truth,
and fill my heart with His Love
so that I may serve You in faith
and love and reach eternal life.
In the Sacrament of the Eucharist,
You give me the joy of sharing Your Life.
Keep me in Your presence.
Let me never be separated from You
and help me to do Your Will.
