Sometimes Lord I simply get tired of waiting
for things to get back to normal.
How long more?

Then I remember the well-known plea
in the words of psalm 13.
How long O Lord?
Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?

But I read on and hear the psalmist sing,
“How good our God has been to me.”
Yes, despite it all I am blessed
in so many other ways.

Amen

O Mary, Mother of God
As You are above all creatures
in Heaven and Earth,
more glorious than the Cherubim,
more noble than any here below,
Christ has given You to His people,
firm bulwark and Protectress,
to shield and save sinners who fly to You.
Therefore O Lady, all embracing refuge,
we solemnly recall Your sweet protection,
and beg Christ forever for His mercy.

Amen.

Lord, through Your Word we receive
the knowledge and wisdom of God.
May Your Spirit lead me to your
sacred Word and guide me in my search
for knowledge and truth.

Down in adoration falling,
Lo! the sacred host we hail;
Lo! o'er ancient forms departing,
newer rites of graces prevail;
faith for all defects supplying,
where the feeble senses fail.
To the everlasting Father,
and the Son, who reigns on high,
with the Holy Spirit proceeding
forth from each eternally,
be salvation, honor, blessing,
might and endless majesty.

Amen.

Saint Angela Merici,
You were generous and joyful in answering God’s call,
and you happily shared the gifts you had been given.
When you recognized the need for education,
you overcame obstacles and prejudice
by your prayer and your commitment
to those living in poverty.
Open our eyes to the needs of others;
remind us that Jesus calls us to serve
our sisters and brothers, and to bring
joy to those around us.

Amen.

Dear Saint Timothy,
well known for your gentleness,
you were a most faithful disciple of Saint Paul,
and like him, traveled much to bring the Good News to all people.
The Letters Paul wrote to you reveal your zeal
and inspire us with confidence in you.
You too were cast into prison
and you too gave your life for Christ.
So with confidence we dare to ask,
please answer my request if it be God's will.

Amen.

Lord Jesus, merciful Savior of the world,
we humbly ask You by Your Most Sacred Heart,
that all the straying sheep may turn to You,
the Shepherd and Bishop of their souls:
Who lives and reigns world without end.

Amen.

Good and gracious God, at this time of pandemic
help us to know that we are not abandoned.

Assist us in bearing this cross of suffering,
illness and death.

Guide us to an increase in Faith
in the life, death and Resurrection.

May we see that the difficulties of
this moment can be carried
with the Light of Your Love.
We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ,
Our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

O God, Who, under this wonderful Sacrament,
left to us the memorials of Your Passion;
grant us, we beseech You, so to venerate
the sacred mysteries of Your Body and Blood,
that we may constantly experience within us
the fruit of Your redemption.

Immaculate Mother of God,
Queen of the Apostles,
we know that God's commandment of love
and our vocation to follow Jesus Christ
impels us to cooperate in the mission of the Church.
Realizing our own weakness,
we entrust the renewal of our personal lives
and our apostolate to your intercession.
We are confident that through God's mercy
and the infinite merits of Jesus Christ,
you, who are our Mother,
will obtain the strength of the Holy Spirit
as you obtained it for the community of the apostles
gathered in the upper room.
Therefore, relying on your maternal intercession,
we resolve from this moment to devote our talents,
learning, material resources,
our health, sickness and trials,
and every gift of nature and grace,
for the greater glory of God
and the salvation of all.

Amen.

O glorious St. Agnes,
you served God in humility and confidence on earth
and are now in the enjoyment of His beatific Vision in heaven
because you persevered till death
and gained the crown of eternal life.
Remember now the dangers
that surround me in the vale of tears,
and intercede for me in my needs and troubles.

Amen.

January 20, 2021

Glorious Saint Sebastian,
you who had great courage,
help us to be witnesses of Jesus
before this unbelieving world
as You have brought others to Christ.
Help us to have the love of neighbor
that You had and to give our lives
for our brothers, even in difficulties and dangers.
Help us to have faith in the pains of life
as You endured cruel martyrdom.
Protect all soldiers, military and police
against every danger in their work.
Protect all nations against wars,
hunger and pestilence.
Intercede for the grace that I desire.

Amen.

When I’m not feeling well,
and tired, I can get so down,
down with others,
down with myself,
down with everything,
my spirit withers within me.

I become like a flower in a dry land,
desperate for rain,
just wishing to feel at rights,
so I can enjoy my life again.

Lord, make haste to help me,
send the showers of Your love upon me,
so that like flowers refreshed in rain,
I can lift up my drooping head,
and rejoice in You instead.

Amen.

Dear Lord God,
it was steady and predictable
to live in stability for a long time.

Now, there is much uncertainty
How long will this pandemic last?

In ages past, our ancestors also had
experiences of pandemic

We are not the only ones to know
this kind of illness and possible pending
suffering.

Faith teaches us that you  will not abandon us Lord God.
So, we lean on your promise to stay with us
for all time.

Let us be sources of encouragement and support
for one another as brothers and sisters
as we face the changes and pandemic of our time.

With God, all things are possible.
May the God who gives us power and strength
grant us peace and solidarity
to live each day with goodness and grace

In Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

Grant, we ask You, O Lord Jesus Christ,
that the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Mother,
whose most holy soul was transfixed
with the sword of sorrow
in the hour of Your Own Passion,
may intercede for us before the throne of Mercy,
now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.
