May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning.
Christ went through their midst in Peace,
and the word was made flesh.
Christ is with us with Mary.

Have mercy on us.

Jesus, my Lord, let me go to Mary
when suffering threatens to overwhelm me.
Ask Your mother to stay with me
when I am afraid and tempted to surrender.
Let me look to Mary as my model for love,
as well as my haven of healing.
Make sure I am considerate of other people
and notice how they are affected by their suffering.
I'm not the only one.
I beg You, Lord, to help me grow in compassion.
If I am faithful to You and close to Your blessed mother,
those who suffer will be comforted by my presence
and they will gain courage
as I stand beside them, by their cross.

we no longer look for Jesus among the dead,

We remember today, the pain and suffering of the cross,
and all that Jesus was willing to endure for us.
He paid the price to offer us the gift of eternal life.
Help us never to take for granted this gift of love.
Help us to be reminded of the cost of it all.
Forgive us for being too busy, or distracted by other things,
to not recognize what You have done for us.
Thank you Lord that by Your wounds we are healed.

O Lord Jesus, in order that the merits
of Your sacrifice on the Cross
might be applied to every soul of all time,
You willed that it should be renewed
upon the altar.
At the Last Supper, You said:
"Do this in remembrance of me."
By these words You gave Your apostles
and their successors the power to consecrate
and the command to do what You Yourself did.
I believe that the Mass is both a sacrifice and a memorial-
reenacting Your passion, death and resurrection.
Help me to realize that the Mass
is the greatest gift of God to us
and our greatest gift to God.

sublime model of all perfection,
You are urging onward all privileged souls
in their high aspiration towards the goal of religious life;
and, moreover, You also strengthen them
through the powerful force of Your example
and the efficacious influence of Your grace
so that they may be able to follow You
in such a noble way of life;
grant then that many,
recognizing Your sweet inspirations,
may have the will to correspond with them
by embracing the religious state
and so enjoy in it Your special care
and tender predilection.

Many have faced disasters

The upper hand of evil never turned them against you.

Let me be like them, Lord.
No matter what the cross,
let me never stop declaring you
to be truly the Son of God,
the source of my hope,
the reason why I will never quit on life.

We praise you, O God,
for your redemption of the world through your Son.
He entered the holy city of Jerusalem in triumph
and was proclaimed Messiah and king
by those who spread garments and branches along his way.
Just as we carry these branches,
may we follow Christ in the way of the cross that,
dying and rising with him, we may enter into your kingdom;
through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever.
