You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff – they comfort me.

O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word in on my tounguw, O Lord, you know it completely. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is so high that I cannot attain it.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always accuse, nor will he keep his anger forever.

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken.

Please keep all those impacted by the storm in your prayers.

The Lord is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds. The Lord upholds all who are falling, and raises up all who are bowed down.

Give thanks to him, bless his name. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing. Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.

Dear Jesus, I can easily get distracted in prayer. Things just seem to popup into my head. I lose perspective. Rather than being at rest or in conversation with you, I seem to go here and there with little pausing. Help me to slow down and get quiet to feel your calming, healing touch. Amen

Dear Jesus, Help me be aware of my tendency to be judgmental and not open to different views, attitudes, and approaches. It’s ok to have my own likes and dislikes but not to let them warp my view of reality and to diminish caring. You call to love with all our heart and soul. Help me to see as you see that I may desire to love as you love. Amen

Dear Jesus, Lent gives us the time to choose to slow down and reflect on the ways we live. Help us to discover the different kinds of selfishness and sin that keep us away from you and others. Help us to cherish your love as shown in your life, death and resurrection. Help us desire to find ways in which we can be generous and life giving to others. Amen.

When I see flowers fresh in bloom sprung to life in spring thrill after the dark night’s Winter chill, I think of the miracle of life and how nature itself is renewed. I know you can renew me in the same way, Lord. The miracle of life is within me too and the miracle of your love. Lord, put a spring in my step, that I may thrill at life again. Heal not only my body, Lord, but my mind and heart as well, then I will be able to praise you like flowers in abundance. Amen

It’s wonderful after illness to feel your strength returning to feel your old self again, to start getting on top of things. But it takes time and patience, just getting back into routine, into the swing of things can seem like a mountain to climb, a challenge too far. Lord, help me grow strong again, help me each step of the way so that taking one step at a time, with your help I will come out on top. Amen
